"Son of Man, can these bones live?"
The valley floor was full of bones, and the Lord walked Ezekiel all through them. I wonder if he was seeing how the prophet would react. In my mind, I see Ezekiel stumbling over dry bones, white with age, pot-marked, in a chaotic assortment of femurs, vertebrae, skulls, and pelvises, having to catch his balance as he steps over and through this valley of bones.
Believers know the rest of the story. In a powerful scene, God tells Ezekiel to speak over the bones, and an astonishing, reality-altering set of events unfold.
